Description

NovoMix 50 FlexPen is a prefilled, disposable insulin pen (100IU/ml) injected subcutaneously 15 minutes before or after a meal. It must be mixed by rolling/shaking 10 times, used with a new needle, primed with 2 units, and rotated between injection sites (abdomen, thigh) to prevent lumps.

Key Steps for Using NovoMix 50 FlexPen:
Preparation: Check the name and color of the pen to ensure it is NovoMix 50. Wash your hands. Check that the insulin is uniformly white and cloudy after mixing.
Attach Needle: Remove the paper tab from a new needle, screw it on straight, and remove both outer and inner caps.
Prime the Pen (Important): Dial 2 units. Hold the pen with the needle pointing up, tap it gently, and press the push-button until the dose counter returns to 0 and insulin appears.
Set Dose: Dial the exact number of units prescribed by your doctor.
Injection:
Inject into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
Insert the needle, press the push-button until the counter shows 0.
Keep the needle in the skin for at least 6 seconds to ensure the full dose is delivered.
After Injection: Remove the needle safely, put the pen cap back on, and store at room temperature.

Important Safety Information
Storage: Keep unopened pens in the refrigerator (
